Grown and Disney: The Bachelorette Party
Grown and Disney: The Bachelorette Party
In 2018 I married my high school sweetheart. Both of us are Disney lovers as many of you know, but before the wedding I had the ultimate Disney Bachelorette Party with my girls. Though my entire bridal party did not attend, SIXTEEN of my friends traveled to Orlando, Florida to the Most Magical Place on Earth. I really wanted my friends to experience the reason why I love Disney so much. Most of my friends had never been to Disneyworld, so I wanted to make sure they had an experience that would be remembered for a lifetime AND that would make them return to Disney.
The trip was a very short weekend; Friday to Sunday. Friday we began by checking into the AirB&B. We had dinner at Spicy & Juicy, a local seafood restaurant. I LOVE SEAFOOD! After dinner we headed over to Vixen Fitness for a pole fitness and dance class. We worked off the crab legs and were picked up by GoGo Party Bus Orlando afterwards. We unexpectedly ended the night at Better Than Sex Dessert Bar. The desserts were amazing. We were TI RED! Yeah, we thought we were going to go out; nope… that didn’t happen. The party bus turned into a napping room.
We were so tired that we next morning as we overslept. But the show went on! I made custom welcome packages for everyone which included a few park essentials. What’s a girls trip without matching shirts? Anywho! On to the 4 Parks 1 Day Challenge! First of all, I do NOT recommend the 4 Parks 1 Day Challenge to anyone except those who have been to Disney World at least 492,384,792,749 times. However, I could not decide which park we would visit if we did not go to all four. Taking on all four parks in one day means running around like a chicken with their head cut off a 100 mph, jumping on just a few rides and as many photo ops as possible.
We began the day at Animal Kingdom. I DO NOT RIDE ROLLERCOASTERS! I did not want to ruin anything for my friends so the group did not stay together the entire day. With our late start underway, a few hours passed and it was time to eat. We boarded the buses over to EPCOT for the Food and Wine Fest. The festival is my absolute favorite. The paella from Spain was so good that I added it to our wedding menu. Honestly, by the time we got to EPCOT, we were exhausted. Many of us fell asleep on the short bus ride. By the time we left EPCOT, we were POOPED. here is no shade at Epcot, which made us extremely hot and tired. However, we pushed through to Hollywood Studios to continue our 4 Parks 1 Day Challenge.
After a few rides and photo ops we made it to Magic Kingdom just in time for the fireworks. We were absolutely done for. In our final picture of the night we were smiling through the pain. But if I’m going to be exhausted from walking for 12 hours, I want it to always be the result of running around Disney.
The next morning we went to Disney Springs for…. you guessed it! WINE. SLUSHIES. Amorette’s Patisserie is my absolute favorite! From mini cheesecakes to chocolate covered strawberries, I can always get my sweet fix. After some shopping, snacking and exploring we went to Sunday Brunch at Santiago’s Bodega. Every person I asked a recommendation from suggested Santiago’s. The ambiance, food and bottomless mimosas and sangria make it an absolute winner. From there we said our goodbyes.
Some things that I would've done differently,
1. Stay on Property
One of my main goals was to make it so that as many of my friends as possible would be able to attend. With that, I wanted the trip to be unthinkably affordable. However, saving just a few dollars by staying off property was not worth it. Free transportation from the airport, Disney Dining Plan, free MagicBands, free park transportation, FastPass+ at 60 Days prior, flexible payment plans, extra magic hours are just a few things that automatically make staying on property worth it
Despite all that was lost in staying off property, the Airbnb rental allowed for all 17 of us to be in one shared area compared to multiple rooms.
2. Longer Trip.
A 5 Day/4 Night vacation with the Dining Plan and Park Hopper would have been absolutely perfect. I always recommend at least 3 park days with the park hopper option. As mentioned, I was trying to keep the trip away from business days so my friends wouldn’t have to take off days from their jobs/school.
Overall I truly enjoyed my bachelorette experience. I would highly recommend taking 'Grown and Disney' Trips. It was so fun seeing my mix of friends immersed in the world of Disney. I love Disney, so having a HUGE Pinterest-like girls trip was a Dream Come True. I also enjoyed making the experience of going to Disney happen for so many of my friends. Experiences like this are exactly why I am a Disney Travel Agent. We also got to mix in some of Orlando outside of Disney. Follow me on IG: DisGirlMagic 💕
